Arabella Advisors is a philanthropic advisory firm with 9 locations across the United States and is headquartered in Washington, DC. As Arabella’s first and only graphic designer, I have been tasked with ensuring the existing branding is applied across all materials both internal and external, creating, managing and updating digital assets and resources, logo and web design, icon design, creating and holding quarterly basic and advanced design trainings, responding to unclear briefs and work under extremely tight turnaround times and more. In addition to regular design duties I helped create Arabella’s signage, wayfinding, and interior graphics for their new office in DC, in addition to painting nine commissioned pieces of art.

Design Trainings

Day of Learning/Intro to Typography - A casual introduction to my own passions on typography and lettering, and exploring the anatomy and details of typefaces and how design shows up in our lives.

Basics of Design Lunch and Learn - A comprehensive exploration of design principles and the value design can add to a story or a deliverable.

Quarterly design training expanding on the basic principles of design and helping non-designers use PowerPoint more effectively to combine image and type.

Arabella’s Redesigned Core Competency Model

I was asked to redesign and refresh Arabella’s Core Competency Model so that employees can more easily visualize how the model can be woven into their every day work, and to show the bigger picture of career and personal growth and development. This toolkit also has an interactive element where people can click on certain levels and see more detailed information pop up.

Future of Black Wealth Fund and Arabella’s Racial Wealth Gap Practice

A suite of designed materials and collateral outlining the persistent and endemic issue of racial injustice and inequality in America, and inviting donors and funders to help find and fund a solution.
